"It feels... presumptive to ask but would you like to travel together for a time?" Caleb reached across the table and lightly brushed his fingers over Essek's knuckles. "Not just here but after as well. I would like to stay with you for as long as possible. We could take our time traveling to Blumenthal and see what is between there and here."

A bit nervously he dragged his lower lip between his teeth and glanced away for a moment. Caleb wanted, very badly, to spend days... months... years with Essek if possible. Their lifespans would diverge at some point but until then he would very much like to be at Essek's side.

Perhaps he wanted too much. There was that quiet uncertainty in the back of his mind. Caleb knew there were so many complications between them that it may not be possible for them to truly have a life together. He still wanted whatever time they could steal. Whatever time they could make theirs.
